First I gathered supplies, I had no clue what I wanted to do, other then using this die cut that I have had lying around for a while.
Picked out some wire, Heart Cabochons, Circle Cabochons and lace

Using Gel medium I glued down the lace and applied stencil paste through a brick wall stencil.
Attached the Heart and Circle Cabochons with Gel Medium.. no plan just added randomly.

Next I wanted to add some more texture to the background, so I added some craft stones and tiny beads (also with Gel Medium).
Wrapped the wire around the cover for added interest.
I wanted to add some crackle effect on the hearts next, This crackle paste has a primer so I added the primer in just a few places. (you should let it dry completely here, I am impatient and didn’t get the full effect because it was still wet in the next step)

Adding the Black Crackle paste and Black Gesso. Applying the Crackle thicker causes bigger crackle effects.
Once the Gesso and Crackle paste dried completely I added Lumi spray on top. This added a purple/blue iridescent effect.

I mixed Lumi Interference powder (red) with some gel medium to make a paste and added it to a few spots on the hearts and the left side. I also added a little water to make a light wash.
Time to prep the focal point, I decided the current color of the embellishment wouldn’t work with this cover. I decided to color it gold so it would stand out. I used a Gold Paint pen

I added the embellishment with Gel Medium and added a few touches of gold to the page and the edges.
I also wrote out a sentiment on black gessoed paper with gold paint pen and glued it to the cover.
Viola – all done!
